Schwerin trams with a new design

Some time ago, Local transport Schwerin GmbH (NVS) approached BVS Systemtechnik in its search for a flexible sheet metal fabricator. An exciting new project was born. Step by step, the redesign of the Schwerin tram cabins took shape.

What happens in this very diverse long-term project?
The old cabin fittings are fitted with new ceiling panels and new side panelling. The parts are each digitised in 3D. In coordination with the NVS marketing team, the trams are given a new design.

What does the new design actually look like?
The new design consists of a modified ventilation concept and new lighting. The new lighting concept uses continuous LED panels that are integrated into an image of the original Schwerin sky.

Over a period of around 5 to 6 years, around 30 trams will be given a new design.
