Topping out ceremony

On October 6, 2017, the shareholders of the newly founded BVS Systemtechnik celebrated the topping-out ceremony of the new plant with guests from politics and business. Starting next spring, 20 specialists will produce products made of thin sheet metal for technical applications.

Manuela Schwesig, Prime Minister of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, was pleased about the emergence of a new employer in the region: “BVS Systemtechnik is the next company to settle here and we will create 1,000 jobs here at the Schwerin Industrial Park. Not only is there enough space for investment, Schwerin also has a large number of skilled workers,” emphasised the head of government.

The new BVS Systemtechnik team will produce prototypes and thin sheet metal products for various industries in the future. “We are placing BVS Systemtechnik on a broad basis. New projects for the electrical engineering industry or automatic production are planned for the Schwerin plant,” reports Harald Steiner, Managing Director of BVS Systemtechnik. BVS Systemtechnik, a subsidiary of BVS Blechtechnik from Böblingen, is targeting new customers in northern Germany and, as an extended workbench, is taking on orders from the parent company’s existing business. In addition, it supplies flight seat assemblies in strategic partnership with the flight seat manufacturer ZIM, also located in the Schwerin industrial park.

An investment sum of € 8 million was invested in the new building and the equipment with a state-of-the-art machine park. On a total area of about 4.000 m² punch laser machines, folding machines, grinding machine, riveting and assembly stations will be installed. Thanks to the support of the Ministry of Economics, the city administration and the state economic development agency Invest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, BVS’s expansion into the north-eastern federal state is proceeding smoothly and rapidly. The opening of the plant is planned for April 2018. Then the employees of Systemtechnik will punch, laser and bend the first sheet metal parts and deliver them to the customers as assembled sheet metal components.
